MCB: The First 15 Months
Patrick Nathan launched Mill City Bibliophile as a simple WordPress.com blog in June of 2011, quickly adapting himself to the Minneapolis/Saint Paul literary scene. Within a few short weeks MCB reached 1,000 hits and continued to grow throughout the rest of the year. In early 2012, Nathan sought out to renovate and rejuvenate the site, expanding its focus as well as its content. In September of 2012, MCB was relaunched as a full-fledged literary review, based in Minneapolis. We cover books, art installations, literary events of all kinds, and local entertainment.

Write for Us
We’re interested in reviews that thoroughly engage with the text, going beyond the standard 750 word newspaper write-up. One of the long form literary essay’s most wonderful components is its inability to escape the reviewer. We love blending the personal with the analytical, the circumstantial with the critical. Reading is an equation of book + reader + pinpoint in the reader’s long lifetime. All we ask is that you don’t pretend to offer an objective opinion.
To pitch a review or event article to MCB, e-mail patrick.nathan@gmail.com with the subject “MCB Pitch – [last name].” We aim to respond in three days.
